The sweet table
Chickpea Sambusak

It was a lot of work and a lot of fun. It is, as a vegan and a fair to middling cook and baker, my absolute pleasure to showcase delicious plant powered food for friends and family.

Vegan Butter Tarts-it’s a Canadian thing, eh!
Cornbread-a family favorite!

I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season however and with whomever you celebrate. I will be spending time with my treasured family, as well as reflecting on what my vegan and AR advocacy will look like in the coming year.

My website, which has been getting short shrift in the last couple of months, will be a priority. Advocacy with some wonderful fellow vegans who have come into and now grace my life, will continue to be rewarding as well as astonishing. Who knew that this old gal could meet and connect so deeply with vegans and AR activists of all ages and from all walks of life. I am eternally grateful for you!

I intend to continue searching  my heart for the best way to leave the smallest footprint, to avoid injuring those with whom I walk this earth and to advocate for the exploited animals who are being denied agency over their own lives and those of  their family members. This human created exploitation and suffering in which I have unwittingly participated for most of my life, is incalculable, unremitting and unnecessary.

Me and my daughter

Being a daughter, a mother and a grandmother has been key in informing my veganism over the last several years. Being loved unconditionally by my mom and loving my children and grandchildren the way that I do is the deepest connection to life that I have ever experienced. This love has a ripple effect that includes and encompasses all of my family members (both two legged & four legged) and friends and the world at large.

It is my most fervent wish that all species of animals  experience this freedom we call love and acceptance. Veganism is for their sake, for the planet and, by extension, for all humans.

A vegan Toast to You All

May 2018 be a year of life affirming change, of understanding  that our capacity for love and caring can be limitless, that we can extend our umbrella of protection to the suffering and that we can release other species of animals from the bondage in which they now languish.

Annie’s Vegan View

Let us all work towards true peace on this earth we all call home.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and see you on the flip side.

May all beings be happy and free.

    Hi Anne!
I just wanted to say thanks for all you have done this year. I continue to learn lots from you and always look forward to reading your newly published articles.

The food you showcased at your party looked amazing and it is always presented so beautifully. You inspire me to want to cook and bake more myself and I love your print off recipes. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Anne and I wish you all the best for the new year.

I think 2018 is going to be a very good year for the vegan movement. I feel the tide is turning and it feels exciting to be part of that.

    Heartfelt thanks
    Rachel

      Hi Rachel,
Just getting back to looking at my website after all the Xmas hoopla. Thank you so much for your kind words. I think we all learn from one another how to best advocate for animals and how to be in this world. As humans our greatest asset is the willingness to look at doing things a different way.
I admire your resilience and look forward to another year of vegan advocacy with you.
Thanks so much and take care.
      Anne
