This Vegan’s Plant Powered Christmas Party is Over

This Vegan’s Plant Powered Christmas Party is Over

It was a lot of work and a lot of fun. It is, as a vegan and a fair to middling cook and baker, my absolute pleasure to showcase delicious plant powered food for friends and family.

I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season however and with whomever you celebrate. I will be spending time with my treasured family, as well as reflecting on what my vegan and AR advocacy will look like in the coming year.

My website, which …

It’s this woman named Ren (Riding on the Power of Others)

I am sure that you have all experienced times when something, someone, a concept, a thought, an idea resonated so deeply with you, that you had to run with it without exactly understanding why. It seems corny to call it a “knowing”, but that is what it feels like to me, even though I am not quite sure what that “knowing” is.

The Importance of Veganism and Anti-Speciesism in Animal Rights Outreach

My, my, my, the City of Montreal and our illustrious and obstinate Mayor Denis Coderre  certainly have a knack for  making the front page of mainstream news. So much of the swirling controversy has been inglorious as well as unflattering to the unwavering mayor.

Family lore has it that at every big, family function, Anne (that would be me) will either arrive with or manage to acquire during said event, some manner of physical …

Baked Applesauce Oatmeal Muffin Cups

Let me get the ball rolling by saying that if you are looking for a muffin recipe, this is not it. Baked oatmeal is a horse of a different color. In reality, it is more like a bowl of your favorite porridge in a snack like format.

This Baked Oatmeal is not really sweet.

It is chewy and dense.

There is no flour, so is 100% whole grain, which is something many of us are looking for in our daily diets.

But hey, if …

Jo-Anne McArthur of We Animals: AR activist and Vegan photojournalist

The original version of my article about Jo-Anne McArthur of We Animals was published in Feb of 2014, a few months before my fledgling vegan blog got an overhaul and new look thanks to my web designer and way, way before I knew anything about formatting. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that it was not a pretty scene – me hammering away at the keyboard, trying to write and add features and pics to my content to …
